Show Synopsis
The Mount Home for Retired Theatricals is an unusual place – more like a country house hotel than a home for the elderly and the manageress positively encourages residents to carry on working as long as they can. So when Walter Neville (small part veteran of films) arrives, he is overjoyed to find some of his best friends in residence.
All is well until the serial womanizer ex-husband of three of the residents goes missing – apparently on the run from Russian gangsters. The ladies decide that “He who pays the bills” must be rescued – but how to go about it? What follows is a truly daft journey into the world of eccentric luvvies that provides some of the best comic roles for senior actors you are ever likely to come across!

Show Synopsis
The play takes place in late April 1978 on the Ransier Farm in rural Ontario. Austin Ransier, the patriarch, is in his 80s. His son Ray has taken over most of the decision making, and is currently mulling over whether to keep the struggling farm going, or sell to a developer – who has a massive golf course in mind for the Ransier Farm and longtime neighbour Albert’s adjoining farm next door. Ray’s son Larry has just graduated from college with an agricultural degree and has come home for the weekend – eager to try out “new fangled” ideas that may keep the farm afloat. Ray’s wife Marion and Larry’s girl Leanne get to sit back and watch the fireworks explode as the three men go at it. Sometimes Austin recalls the past and slips back to where he can look out and see a team of horses in harness working the land on the hillside – he sees the team on the hill.
